Managing our scheme

We are currently looking for Trustees to join us and there is more information attached to the bottom of this page!!

Home-Start Edinburgh West and South West is managed by a dedicated team of trustees who volunteer their time and expertise to oversee and give direction to the work that we do. We currently have a team of 7 trustees with a broad range of experience in the legal, financial and voluntary sector.

Why not download our Annual Report to see how our Home-Start trustees' experience and skills contribute to our support service for young families going through difficult times.

Our present team of trustees includes :-

Jess Wade
Jess Wade has worked in the Scottish voluntary sector since 2004, when she graduated from the University of Edinburgh. She is currently Manager at Self Directed Support Scotland (SDSS), working with local, disabled people's Self Directed Support organisations throughout the country. She has previously worked in a range of roles in the sector, including fundraising, volunteering and campaigning and was appointed to the Board of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR) in 2016. She has a Masters in Public Administration from the University of York and is a long time human rights activist. She lives in Slateford with her husband, two young children and their cat.

Christina Early
Lovely to hear that in addition to possessing a range of skills and experience relevant to the Trustee role in her own words Christina says "My main motivation in becoming a trustee for Home Start is that the values and aims of the work you do really inspires me. To be in a position to contribute positively to the health and wellbeing of families excites and energises me. I have a strong belief in the benefits of peer support and the positive impact this can have on the wellbeing of others."

Jenny Purves
Jenny has over 35 years experience in banking and finance and we are delighted that in September 2017 she accepted the role of Chairperson of Home-Start Edinburgh West and South West.

Lisa Mallinson
Lisa joined us as a trustee in 2020.  She works in sustainable banking and has a responsibility for community programmes and a charitable campaign strategy.  Living in Edinburgh with two young daughters, Lisa is very interested in the services we provide for families.

Emily Gaunt
Emily is an accountant with Standard Life Aberdeen.  She has experience of what it is like to volunteer and an interest in helping HSEWSW develop our strategy in order to benefit the local community.

Catherine Robertson
Catherine was welcomed as a Trustee in September 2019.  She has many years experience in the Banking Sector and lots of life experience as a parent.  Her desire is to ensure that families and children get the support they need when they need it.  She is looking forward to the challenges of the role and interested in helping to promote the work of HSEW.
